Our Founders

 “Derrick M. Holmes started out with an advertising and marketing background, and founded Marquee Watch and Clock Company in 1998, where he produced his first watch designs. Inspired by the scientist, astronomer, surveyor and clock maker, Benjamin Banneker (1731-1806). Derrick founded Banneker Watches and Clocks in 2003. Derrick has successfully secured celebrity, political, entertainment, and professional athlete endorsers, as well as several corporate partnerships, instrumental in producing, distributing and selling the Banneker lines.”

“Terrell L. Davis is an entrepreneur, motivational speaker and sports announcer. Terrell was inducted into the Class Of 2017 NFL Hall of Fame. Terrell is a two-time Super Bowl world champion and Super Bowl MVP. His business acumen has caused him to own and be involved in many high-profile companies. He is the Senior Vice President of Benjamin Banneker Watches and Clock Company. Terrell is involved in many nonprofit organizations that benefit the youth. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia. He is an avid believer in creating something and making it great.”

“Tim Hardaway, Sr., the legendary NBA Point Guard whose jersey is retired at Miami Heat Stadium, is a future NBA Hall of Famer. Tim has represented the Banneker Watch and Clock Company brand since its inception and has been a supporter and business relationship facilitator. He was instrumental in Banneker Watches creating the first NBA Championship Watch for the 2006 winners, the Miami Heat. He continues to represent the Banneker Brand to the sports world as President and Spokesperson. He continues to represent the Banneker Brand to the sports world.”

The Banneker Watch Company has a long history of creating recognition and acknowledgment products. Derrick M. Holmes helped revolutionize the championship watch in high school, collegiate and pro sports. He designed the 2006 NBA Championship Watch to accompany the Championship Ring for the Miami Heat. Derrick also is the creator of the graduation class watch and associated jewelry, his brainchild in 1999, to go along side the traditional class ring.
